Are my files really not uploaded?
Right. Everything happens inside your browser. Open the Network tab in your browser's developer tools while you work, and you'll see that no file is sent.
When should I use Fix double-sided scan?
If you scan all the front sides, then flip the stack and scan the back sides, the backs end up in reverse and the pages get mixed up. This button puts them back as front 1, back 1, front 2, back 2, and so on.
Does it reduce quality?
No. Only the page order changes, so text and images stay exactly the same.
